James H. Bilbray's Las Vegas Centennial Mural Project, The Many Faces of Las Vegas, was researched, designed and executed by fifth grade students. The cement outdoor courtyard floor mural depicts images taken from photographs of a variety of Las Vegas residents who contributed in significant ways to the growth and/or development of Las Vegas during the past 100 years. They include: John C. Fremont and Kit Carson, Helen J. Stewart, Yonema Tomiyasu, Octavius Decatur Gass, Frank Crowe, David Lorensi, Winnie Cooper Prince, Monsignor Thomas F. Collins, Bob Bailey, Howard Hughes, Florence Jones, Hank Greenspun, Alfreda Mitre, Penny Binion and Frank Sinatra. |
